First thing’s first, recruit some baking buddies to join the campaign with you! Can you help us reach our goal of having a team in each of the 50 states?
Now that you’re registered, start preparing for the big week. Add your event to your community calendars and get set up on social media (check out the free downloads below). Consider posting flyers or emailing supporters in your area to get involved. With enough notice, you can even get local newspapers or radio stations to help you bake up some excitement. Visit shesthefirst.org to learn about the scholars sponsored by previous bake sales, and share their stories to show how every little cupcake goes a long way!
Let the baking begin! You’ve worked hard to prepare for this week, so get ready to enjoy your sweet success. Follow She’s the First for daily campaign updates on social media and our blog. Cheer on your fellow bakers using the #BakeAChange hash tag on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Don’t forget to brag on your team - we’ll be following along and you may even win a prize!
Use a giant cupcake pan to make a giant cupcake and then sell raffle tickets to give it away. It looks great on the display table before the drawing!
Dye your own tie-dye t-shirts to match your colorful, eye-catching cupcakes. You’ll look and feel more like a team in the process!
Turn a normal bake sale into a bigger event – host a party, sell at a school event, start a contest!
Have a school or local newspaper in your town? Contact them about writing a short story about or mentioning your sale.
